Over a course of private lessons, Pamela guides you into learning to release unnecessary muscular tension. You learn to discover your habits of thought and movement that interfere with your best use, restoring your original poise.
Learning the Alexander Technique involves changing long-standing habits. You learn to understand the basis of coordination and how to attend to process. Poise and coordination improve. Breathing and speaking become easier.
Improvement relies in large part on your active participation. Similar to the study of language or of a musical instrument, your learning is accelerated through repetition.
Therefore it is encouraged, but not required, that two-three lessons be taken per week for the first month. Discounted rates are offered to the committed student who purchases lessons in advance.
In addition to her private practice Pamela Blanc travels in the U.S. and abroad introducing and teaching the principles of the Alexander Technique. Receiving personal, one on one attention in a private lesson lends itself more to learning the Technique than the group experience. However, the principles of the Alexander Technique can be explored and discussed in a group setting. Insights can be gained and observation skills enhanced. Occasionally Pamela offers group classes in Los Angeles. |
