BIOGRAPHY Pamela Blanc teaches the Alexander Technique in Los Angeles, California. In addition to her private practice in West Los Angeles, Pamela is a Visiting Assistant Professor at UCLA, Music Department; teaches the South Bay Children's Choir; teaches at Cal State University Northridge, Music Department; is on the faculty of OperaWorks. Having graduated from the American Center for the Alexander Technique in San Francisco in 1979, over the years Pamela has been inspired by and continued her studies with Alexander Technique teachers: Marjory Barlow, Marjorie Barstow, Walter & Dilys Carrington, Partrick Macdonald and Peggy Williams. (All of whom studied with Mr. F.M. Alexander.) During her teaching career Pamela has taught for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, the Colburn School of Performing Arts, the University of Southern California School of Theater, The International Festival of Movement and Dance on the Volga in Yaroslavl, Russia, UCLA Extension, The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, The Alexander Technique Performance Workshops, the New York Film Academy and the Alexander Training Institutes of San Francisco and of Los Angeles. Committed to continuing education, in June 2003 Pamela completed the Graduate Training Program in the Art of Breathing at the American Center for the Alexander Technique, New York City under the Direction of Jessica Wolf. Pamela is an active member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT) and serves as Chair of the Training Directors Committee. She is a Founder and Member of the Board of Directors of the Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles (a teacher training school), where she served as Executive Director/Senior Faculty member for nine years. Currently Pamela oversees Continuing Education Programs for Alexander Technique Teachers at A.T.I.-L.A.
